OVERVIEW
For this assignment, you will complete the Methods section and the Results section of your hypothetical behavior analytic study. Since you have not conducted the study, you will need to create hypothetical data to present and graph. Then, you will graph the results and provide a visual analysis of the graph.
The other goal of this assignment is also to fine-tune your introduction, subject, and setting information. Please provide more detail on the procedure for each child for the implementation of the intervention in the procedure section. Pay attention to provided template. These steps are critical, or you will get a lousy grade.
INSTRUCTIONS
The procedures presented outline the implementation of an FCT procedure to reduce targeted challenging behaviors. However, a clear description of the implementation of the intervention was not clearly conveyed, this should be corrected. The manner in which the intervention is implemented in each phase of the study needs to be presented in specific, observable, and measurable terms to ensure that the procedure is implemented with fidelity and that confounding variables can be identified and controlled for. Data collection procedures are described that identified measure and recording method corresponds to the description of the dependent variable as well. Finally, the IOA procedure matches the measurement identified and reflects best practices in meeting the minimum scores and opportunities across experimental sessions. Presents a complete Introduction and participants and settings section. Fully describes the procedures used to implement the intervention that is used in the hypothetical study and supports those procedures with literature. Fully describes the data collection method, including the data recording method, the instrument used for recording the data, schedule for data collection, and how the baseline data is gathered, including all key details. Methods
You completed the previous pieces of the Methods section in your previous assignment. Be sure to integrate any feedback you received from you instructor.
Design
- Select the single-subject design that best fits your study based upon your research and understanding of each design (reversal, withdrawal, multiple baselineacross participants, behaviors, or settings, changing criterion, alternating treatment/multielement). Why you chose the design?
- Describe why you selected it and how the design is specifically implemented within your hypothetical research study.
Results
- Create hypothetical data for your study. Describe the results of the intervention that was implemented.
- Provide a graph of the data using the appropriate single-subject design graph.
oCopy and paste the graph(s) into the same document as the rest of the assignment (do not submit separate files).
oGraphs should use the guidelines from Chapter 6 of your Applied Behavior Analysis text, including chart title, data line with markers in black and white only, phase labels, phase change lines, figure caption, x axis line and label, y axis line and label, and any additional elements depending upon the individual single subject design.
- Summarize results of the graph in a visual analysis (trend, level, variability) across and between phases.
