An International Perspective on Corrections U.S. jurisdictions responded to increasing numbers of prisoners by building more prisons. Would that be a good tactic for countries such as South Africa, Brazil, and India to use in response to their overcrowding? Would they benefit by adopting the current California Re-alignment Approach? Why or why not?
