Annotated Bibliography

This week you will be completing an Annotated Bibliography, in preparation for the Literature Review assignment due in Week 7. Your Annotated Bibliography MUST focus on a theme or topic related to Crisis and Emergency Intervention discussed in the course. Reviewing the requirements of the Literature Review assignment is encouraged before proceeding with the Annotated Bibliography.

In completing the annotated bibliography, select 6 to 8 scholarly, peer-reviewed, empirical, original research articles related to your literature review topic.

Provide full, APA formatted reference entries for each of the selected articles.
Beneath each article, include a two (2) to three (3) paragraph summary of each research article that includes the researchers’ goals, methods, participants, data analysis, findings, and conclusions.
Develop a comprehensive theme or overarching topic of the collection being reviewed; clearly articulate this overarching topic (this should be the introductory paragraph to your submission).
Include a clear statement of how each article reviewed is relevant to the topic of the literature review and relates to the other selections in the annotated bibliography at the close of each article summary.
Work should be submitted in a Word document (doc. or docx.) or other compatible word processing document (.rtf), and be 6 to 8 pages in length, excluding the required title, abstract, and reference pages.

Scholarly sources should be cited both in-text and on the reference page of the submission. Course materials may not be used to meet the peer-reviewed journal article requirement.

The basic parts of a paper should also be included; these are the introduction section, with a precise thesis statement, the body of the paper with clear, discernable headings formatted to APA style levels of heading where appropriate, and a conclusion that restates the thesis and summarizes the major points of the entire paper.

Be sure to review the rubric and the announcements before beginning and submitting your assignment.

Submissions should be formatted per APA standards. Headers are required throughout the submission. For assistance and resources on APA formatting style, contact the APUS library and/or the APUS writing center.
