arguments that the author(s) make in the specific text and ties in with the previous class discussion

*involves 2 course readings* 1) Response Paper (10 points each = 90 points): Course participants will write a 2 page (max) paper that outlines the arguments that the author(s) make in the specific text and ties in with the previous class discussion and course readings/videos. The basis of the grading for the response paper will be both on content and level of work put into the piece.

Specifically, the requirement is that !hard work” be put into the document. By hard work, I refer to a sustained and concentered effort that demonstrates engagement with the written, visual and audio texts. Further, a paper that demonstrates hard work will not be graded for a precise answer, but rather a carefully thought out argument that is based upon class discussion and material from the syllabus.

The focus is not on achieving the !correct” answer, but instead to show a deep engagement with the material that illustrates careful thought. The paper does not require outside sourcing and Wikipedia should never be a citation reference. Given the subject matter and expertise of the instructor, any attempt to circumvent critical engagement with cursory engagement with the course materials will be quite evident and graded accordingly.
