Start early and dont wait until the last minute!
Browse the NIH grant website for actual research proposal funding opportunitiesLinks to an external site. or create your own idea that is similar. Do not be too ambitious in scope or this assignment will be too long and complicated to complete on time.
Think through your proposal carefully.
Create an outline.
We wont have time to produce a full proposal in this short course, but we can cover some crucial elements.
Your proposal should include the sections below. Refer to the textbook for guidance as necessary, particularly on pages 54 and 55, and 188 through 192 (more detail).

Innovation
Approach
The entire document should not exceed six pages, so you will need to apply your writing skills and be precise, complete, and concise.

Follow AMA style as outlined below.
This week should be devoted solely to researching, planning, and writing your first draft.

In Module 6, you will submit your first draft to two peers for their feedback. Then, in Module 7, you will submit your final version on Day 7 for grading.

Parameters

Submissions must comply with AMA style, as listed in the AMA Manual of Style: A Guide for Authors and Editors, 11th Edition. In general, this means your paper must:

Include a separate title page with the following:
Title of paper
Students name
Course name and number
Instructors name
Date submitted
Use and cite a minimum of three of the resources presented in this course.
Document all sources in AMA style as outlined in the AMA Manual of Style: A Guide for Authors and Editors, 11th Edition.
Include a separate reference page that is formatted according to AMA style as outlined in the AMA Manual of Style: A Guide for Authors and Editors, 11th Edition.
