This essay is 3 to 4 pages typed. At minimum, it must be 3 FULL pages (that means the typing goes all the way down to the bottom of the third page). It is in MLA format: 12-point font; double-spaced; one-inch margins; heading in the upper left-hand corner; with an original essay title.
Please include at least four quote sandwiches” in this essay.

Now that you have read through a significant portion of Dress Codes, write an essay on the topic below. Please base the majority of your essay ONLY ON EXAMPLES FROM THE BOOK.
However, with your CONCLUSION PARAGRAPH of this essay, design your closing as a “personal reflection conclusion paragraph”: reflect on a personal interaction with a dress code, or, explain the dress code experience of someone you know.
Please note that outside research is not required for this discussion. The goal here is to spend time doing a deeper dive into one chapter from the book, so you walk away understanding the concepts of one chapter very well, being able to persuade a reader of the chapter’s strengths:
ESSAY TOPIC:
In your opinion, which chapter from Dress Codes best supports the argument that the enforcement of dress codes is an extremely complicated action. You can decide if dress codes are complicated in negative or positive ways, or even both.
On the one hand, concepts of proper attire (which often also includes grooming standards for hair, nails, other parts of the human body) are perceived by human beings in very different ways. Enforcements, and violations, of dress codes can then often end up connected to legal disputes, misunderstanding, and sometimes even danger. At the same time, the agreement on certain dress codes can also be a way of bringing like-minded personalities, or groups, together–signaling membership and human connection. Dress codes can also exist for safety or hygiene/sanitation reasons (avoiding injury; working near dangerous machinery; handling food or medical devices).
