Case Analysis Report: Read and write your article about Boldly Go: Character Drives Leadership at Providence Healthcare. Dj vu? Yes, this is the same case study assigned for Dr. Guptas class. You must be able to read a report and perceive it through a different lens. For this weeks submission, focus your comments on the communication aspects of this case. You have two to four pages to devote to the communication issues facing Providence at the conclusion of the case study, possible solutions, recommended solution (be specific), and expected outcomes. A short submission requires clarity, conciseness, and focus. This paper should have no resemblance to your submission to Dr. Gupta. This is an assignment that focuses solely on the communication aspects of your reading assignment. Your deadline is 11:55 p.m., Sunday, June 4. Please submit as a Word document, or your paper will be returned with several (up to 10) points deducted.
As stated in your course syllabus and the checklist posted above, your case analysis report should use APA page format (e.g. one-inch margins, 12-point type, and Times New Roman font). Please include double spacing between lines, a title page, a reference page, and a page number at the bottom of each page. Indent your paragraphs and DO NOT use bullets or an outline. The report must be a minimum of two pages in length (content does not include title page or reference page) and should include: problems/issues facing the organization, possible solutions, a recommended solution, and expected outcomes. Do not repeat the facts provided by the case study. Focus all of your writing and analysis attention on the communication aspects of this case in writing your report! Again, your essay is about identifying the issues at the end of the case study and offering a future perspective on the recommendations for improvements and the predicted outcomes of taking these actions.
NOTE ON PROVIDENCE/ BOLDLY GO: You are expected to read critically in this course and here is the key to writing this case analysis report. This article is not sequential. The first paragraph is the final event in the timeline of the case study, as well as the starting point for your analysis. Your assignment is how Providence should build upon the improvements that have already taken place. Skimming this article is a fatal mistake that will lead you to erroneous assumptions about the timeline.
The Important Role of Stakeholders in Organizational Communication: Stakeholders are an essential group multiple groups, actually. Stakeholders should be considered in your remaining writing assignments for this course. One authoritative source defines a stakeholder as an “individual or group that has an interest in any decision or activity of an organization.” Internal stakeholders are people who are already committed to serving your organization as board members, staff, volunteers, and/or donors. External stakeholders who are engaged in contributing their views and experiences in addressing the issues that are important to them as patients, service users, and members of the local community. The major stakeholders in healthcare systems are patients, physicians, employers, insurance companies, pharmaceutical firms, and government. In many instances, it would be wise to consider the media as an external stakeholder.
