Purpose: This assignment provides student-colleagues with an opportunity to participate in a process group, to document various aspects of the group’s development and progress, and to reflect upon their leadership skills and abilities. This assignment also affords students an opportunity to demonstrate familiarity with and application of assigned reading material over the course of the semester. Each student will produce an individual portfolio that contains the following items: (1) Name of process group – You will create a name for your group (2) Comprehensive progress notes consist of the following descriptive material: (a) content, (b) process, and (c) progress of overall group for each session in which you are the leader and (d) content and (e) progress of each individual member for each session attended. Template available on Moodle. One will be completed for each session. (3) Self-evaluation consists of a thoughtful and reflective self-assessment of leadership skills and abilities for the session facilitated by an individual student. Students will produce a) A double-spaced, 1-2-page summary of their experience as a leader for the particular session they facilitated, citing chapters in the course texts and b) The completed Leadership Self Evaluation.
