Discuss how you think the background and interests of the historian affect his or her major theses, considering things such as ethnic origins

Look up one of the historians covered in the White or Pereira articles you read (attached). Review your peers’ posts and try to choose a different historian, if possible. Identify something that a scholar wrote or a detailed review of another person’s work, authored by your chosen scholar. (Articles attached – I will let you choose which you prefer to use). Briefly describe the thesis and major points of your subject’s work for the class.

Discuss how you think the background and interests of the historian affect his or her major theses, considering things such as ethnic origins, historical events, or periods personally experienced by the author (e.g., the Cold War), place of education or mentor, and any intellectual influences you can discover through independent research. Do you find any methodological processes or ideological biases in the work of these scholars? How might you benefit from the work of these scholars while also balancing any biases they may show? Be sure to cite at least two examples and cite your source(s). Use proper citation methods for your discipline when referencing scholarly or popular sources (must be scholarly resources).
