This was not a cyber-attack, but an accident. These consequences of this attack could be done with a cyber-attack at a low level of hacker ability. Assume that you are in charge of cybersecurity for the facility. Your responsibility is to protect this refinery from a cyber-attack. • Explain how a cyber-attack could initiate this type of disaster based on how this accident occurred. Be specific on how the attacker could hack certain ‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍systems to cause the same consequences. • What would you implement to prevent such a cyber-attack. There are many ways to answer this question depending on your viewpoint and knowledge. For example, you may wish to list specific NIST control families and within those families, specific controls if you are familiar with those. If you are not familiar with these NIST controls, you may wish to list good cyber practices from another standard (e.g., CIS) or one of your choices. Your choice on how to handle the security in this facility. Whatever you choose, include references to demonstrate the validity of your solu‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍tion.
