Describe why this becomes a pressing question in the era of modern science, and then critically reconstruct the arguments of each philosopher
on human freedom.

Descartes, Locke, and Hume all discuss the nature of the self. Briefly outline their respective views, and explain why Hume would criticize the
views of Descartes and Locke, and then express what you think is the correct theory and explain why. Compare and contrast, as thoroughly as you can, the moral theories of Kant and the Utilitarians. Make sure that you explain in detail how the categorical imperative and the principle of utility function as criteria for determining the morality of our actions.
