Hello, I’m a bit confused with the translation of a paragraph in a book about a historical Italian man called Vittorio De Sica, who had two families/wives at the same time. This is the sentence:

I’m especially confused about this sentance: Alla Titta non risult che il marito si fosse allontanato da lei nemmeno quando De Sica prese la cittadinanza francese e impalmo a parigi.
Some translation tools turn this into “To Titta, it did not turn out that her husband had strayed from her, not even when De Sica took French citizenship and wed Maria Mercader in Paris.”
Others translate it as “Titta was not aware that her husband had strayed from her…”
Based on the context, can you tell me which is correct and why, please? Does the translation mean that he never actually left his first wife (Titta), and that he loved both wives? Thank you!
