Your paper proposal should include your research question, your initial answer to this question
(the argument of the paper), and the means by which you intend to test your argument (your
research design). You should attach a one-page outline of your paper as you see it developing
and a one-page initial bibliography (which must be properly formatted). More information will
be given to help you craft your argument, question, and research design in class. You should plan
to come to office hours during the first couple of weeks of the course to discuss potential paper
topics.
