My two key result areas are productivity and employee performance. The annotated bibliography has to present a maximum of 6 citations that includes a 150-200-words explanation per reference. The remaining word count should then be used on the introduction and conclusion. The use of the first person is allowed in this assessment. However, please ensure all statements, thoughts and opinions are supported by suitable academic and non-academic sources. An annotated bibliography is both descriptive and critical; for each citation, you should expose the author’s point of view, clarity and appropriateness of expression, and authority in demonstrating your command of the subject and choosen TWO key result areas.
Creating an annotated bibliography calls for the application of a variety of intellectual skills: concise explanation, succinct analysis, and informed library research. First, locate and record citations to books, journals, documents, online articles, and other resources (e.g., video clips, podcasts, institutional documentation, etc.). Briefly examine and review the actual items within the context of International Hospitality Operations Management. Then choose those works that provide a variety of perspectives on your topic. Cite the resource academically (e.g., book, journal article, document, etc.) using an academic referencing style.
Then, write a concise annotation that summarises the scope of each resource and draws a clear connection with your chosen TWO key result areas and the content covered in this module. Include one or more sentences that: a) evaluate the authority or background of the author b) comment on the intended audience and applicability to industry c) compare or contrast this work with another you have cited d) explain how this work illuminates your evolving understanding of international hospitality operations management, especially your chosen TWO key result areas. It is not only the 6 citations, more has to be used within each citation to support and to show evidence or agreement or disagreement.
The most important is to be critical and not descriptive. So, please use more sources, except those 6 that should be the key ones. Furthermore, the six key citations do not add to the word count. For each citation, 200 words should be used to be commented on. The rest of the words should be separated 400 for Introduction and 400 for Conclusion. It is important that everything should be supported with academic or non-academic references. It is expected that the 6 key citations are a range of sources not only academic journals for example. Also, if it is a big document or book or whatever it has to be a section of this source and not the whole book for example. And the sources have to be connected with tourism, hospitality or events sections. If a podcast is used, also the time range has to be pointed and it should be no longer than 30 minutes. Also, the 6 citations should not be divided into 3 for one of the key result areas and 3 for the other, the citations should rather include both areas. Please also take a look at the marking criteria that I attached as it shows a good example of what is expected.
