Shawn, in this essay students were asked to describe insight therapy and its main approaches which include psychoanalysis, client-centered, and group therapy. Then they were asked to share what they thought were the most reasonable ways to deal with psychological problems including the rationale for their view.
Your answer does not demonstrate an adequate understanding of the material presented in the textbook assigned to this course. See the Future Requirements outlined below and resubmit your revised essay for a second review.
Future Recommendations: You needed to start the essay with a brief overview of insight therapy and clear definition for each individual approach (psychoanalysis, client-centered, and group therapy) before you provided your opinion on the most reasonable ways to deal with psychological problems. Doing so would demonstrate a clear understanding of the topic.
Insight Therapy is a type of psychotherapy (talk therapy) whereas mental disorders are treated by psychological rather than medical means. The focus is on the therapist helping their patient or client begin to understand ways in which their feelings, beliefs, behaviors, and perceptions of past events influence how they make sense of the challenges in the lives they are currently facing. If able to gain insight into their past, the client or patient can often either avoid similar issues in the future or alleviate their problems in the present. I will describe the three main approaches to insight therapy below.
Psychoanalysis is a set of theories and therapeutic techniques used to study the unconscious mind, which together form a method of treatment for mental disorders. Patients are encouraged to talk freely about personal experiences especially early childhood memories and dreams. When using Client-centered therapy the therapist uses a nondirective, empathic approach that empowers and motivates the client. The client-centered therapist uses empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard to help clients resolve unfinished business. Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a group of patients meet to describe and discuss their problems under the supervision of a therapist. In group therapy individuals develop communication and socialization skills and learn how to express their issues effectively and accept criticism from others.
Then you could go on to share your views on the most reasonable way to deal with psychological problems and why.
Also, and as mentioned in previous feedback your essay is underdeveloped. To fully discuss the pertinent concepts, CCU recommends each undergraduate essay be 350-500 words which is enough to cover the subject and to provide some level of analysis. Finally, students must use a standard three to five or more essay format (introduction , central paragraphs, conclusion) your essay is two paragraphs long.
