race, ethnicity, sex and gender

The aim is for you to address ethical issues arising from race, ethnicity, sex and gender in medicine and health care. There are many online resources and you should draw on them. See the Race, Ethnicity, Sex and Gender section of the page. There are also some articles in the textbook that are relevant. Link for USEFUL LINKS IN MEDICAL ETHICS:   Here are some options  – finding cases of discrimination and analyzing them (could be regarding HCPs or patients)

– debating whether affirmative action has any place in medicine – how the patient’s identity should affect the doctor-patient relationship – how medicine systematically discriminates against certain populations – sexual harassment and assault by health care professionals – how stereotypes of people held by doctors reduces quality of care
