Assignment Objective
Assignment will assess students knowledge on Routing and Switching. The main aim of the assignment is researching the latest developments in the field of routing and switching and prepare a report on ACL, VLAN and routing protocols.
Assignment Tasks
- Task 1: ACL (Access Control List) specifies the conditions which are used to control the network traffic. Applying access list makes the router analyze every packet passing through the interface. Appropriate use of access list provides immense advantages in a network. As a network administrator, illustrate the concept how Standard and Extended ACL can be used in different scenarios to enhance the security of a network with suitable diagrams (drawn using packet tracer).
- Task 2: Evaluate the similarities and dissimilarities between IPv4 and IPv6 editions of Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), and Routing Information Protocol (RIP).
- Task 3:As a computer network professional, you have to prepare a report on the following with suitable diagrams (drawn using packet tracer):
a) Communication within and between VLANs
b) Spanning Tree Computation (STP)
