 The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the basic foundations of U.S. healthcare systems and to provide a strong understanding of the complex systems in which health care occurs. One way to demonstrate this is to apply learned concepts to current event applications. Having explored your relationship with health care from an Social Ecological Model perspective, as well as workforce roles/jobs in different sectors of the U.S. healthcare system, consider how these are interrelated with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instructions The essay should also identify/include the following:

With the exception of the “Individual Layer” (which will simply be a citizen of the U.S.), identify 1 workforce role/job within each of the remaining 4 Social Ecological Model layers which may be an influence in the COVID-19 pandemic. Explain in Social Ecological Model terms how/why each of your chosen roles would be considered a factor of influence regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Consider the chosen workforce roles/jobs and identify 3 upstream approaches and 3 downstream approaches overall (not per layer) in the essay’s explanation of their relationship to COVID-19 Include explicit integration of at least two different weeks’ topics presented in the first half of the semester of the course (i.e., Population Health Initiatives, Influence of Government on Healthcare, Operations & Technology in Healthcare, Healthcare System Workforce, Processes of Quality Improvement ). The essay should have a minimum of 5 paragraphs that draw the reader to specific terms and concepts found within the course thus far. A thesis introduction and conclusion paragraphs are required, as well as citations and reference support for your assertions. The essay should be formatted in APA.
