Your response should be at least 1200 words long, but no more than 1500 words long, presented in a double-spaced, type-written format. These length requirements refer to the body of the research essay itself; references and other information are additional. More specific instructions will accompany the question itself. The question will require you to use a specific geographical concept covered in class, and apply it to a specific current event topic assigned by the instructor, and will require library research. The essay is designed to challenge your knowledge, your research skills, your analytical abilities, and your writing skills.
