Belfast City Council has renewed its commitment to the environment by joining the
100 Resilient Cities movement. As part of this movement Belfast has acknowledged
several shocks and stresses that are affecting Belfast’s resilience including an ageing
and failing infrastructure and coastal and tidal flooding.
Assess how the Council could help implement the following as part of its wider city
resilience plan –
(a) The potential for sustainable transport solutions to reduce private car reliance.
(b) The potential for blue/green infrastructure to improve the water and carbon
