What are some of these ways in which care can be enhanced?

Much of the work in children’s hospitals is rightly focused on treatment aimed towards a cure.

Unfortunately, this means that death is often seen as a failure and as such it may not be discussed or acknowledged as a possibility until very late in a child’s stay in the hospital

. This reluctance can deny the child and the family the opportunity to be informed, prepare and make choices.

Surveys of the care received by parents whose child had died and the children’s tertiary treatment center has been to a greater understanding of the parents experiences and the ways in which carrier could be enhanced. 

What are some of these ways in which care can be enhanced?

Are they just procedural or can they be physical as well?

And when can it be determined there can be no more improvements made in certain types of care?
