paper topic of your own so long as you get your professor’s approval. Upload the paper to our

1. What can Melville’s Bartleby tell us about conscience? Form an interpretation about the
significance of conscience for the story and back up your position with examples. For
instance, you might try to get to the bottom of why the boss feels responsibility for
Bartleby despite Bartleby’s massive failures.
