What experiences do you want them to be prepared for and how so?

Challenge: Design an innovative Backpack for traveling amidst the virus. Your backpack must clearly take into account what people are experiencing, what they might experience, what they need, how they feel (emotions), and account for all the senses. First, consider what comprises a “backpack”. If your assignment looks like a bag with two shoulder straps, you fail. Second, relook at the information in the Module – the focus is on user-centeredness and empathy. WHAT are people feeling and experiencing – and what/how do you want your backpack to make them feel (and how so)? What senses could your product impact? What experiences do you want them to be prepared for and how so?

If…you stock your pack with standard virus protection stuff…and that’s it…you fail. Third, generate a big ole list of innovative aspects of your new backpack, and then pick the best and most important ones. Finally, write a brief description of the backpack and create an annotated SKETCH of the product. If when you are done – your backpack looks like the backpack you have sitting over there in the corner…. and you just filled it with hand sanitizer and extra masks…..you REALLY will not get a passing grade. Think harder!
