For your course paper, you are asked to interview any individual, and then write a 3-page report detailing three aspects of their development (i.e. social development, cognitive development, physical development or, social, cognitive, cultural or, physical, cognitive, culture any combination of three aspects of development we have discussed in the course).
You should pick one period in the lifespan, for a person, to discuss. Ie, you can talk to someone about when they were 8 years old,and talk about three aspects of development related to that time period. You only need to discuss one “Stage” per aspect of development (what Piagetian stage are they in? What would Vygotsky say…? etc).
If you are not able to interview an individual in your life you may also use a character from a television show or movie, about whom you have sufficient fictional information to write this paper.
The aim of this assignment is to display your understanding of the interdependence of the many different factors (physiological, social/cultural, cognitive, and psychological) that contribute to the process of human development. You should also consider the limitations, potential, and possibilities of the individual across the lifespan.
The report should reflect specific stages (ie, formal operational stage trust vs. mistrust crisis etc.) as well as the theorists associated with those stages, (Erikson, Kohlberg, Vygotsky )
The paper should be 3 pages long, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, size 12 font.
The paper will be graded out of 20 points; it will comprise 15% of your total grade in this course.
First aspect of development well-explained for the interviewee; including relevant theorists for this aspect
Second aspect of development well-explained for the interviewee; including relevant theorists for this aspect
